In June, 80 members of our Unite family came together in the lush foothills of the Uluguru Mountains to celebrate the successful Form 6 graduation of our 5th class of Unite Scholars. Watch a one-minute highlight video of the celebration here.
In addition to hosting the dance- and award-filled graduation ceremony, we conducted extensive trainings covering such topics as:
Transitioning to university (for our high school graduates);
Transitioning to A-levels (for our newest class of Unite Scholars);
The responsible use of social media;
Self confidence, self awareness, & emotional intelligence;
Sexual harassment & bullying;
Conflict resolution & teamwork;
Honesty & integrity; and
Business & entrepreneurship.
We also took everyone on a field trip to SUGECO at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro to learn about best practices in agribusiness and hiked to swim in the most amazing waterfalls. It was a uniquely powerful time together — full of learning, laughter, and love — and we all cried (well, I did!) when it was time to say goodbye.
With our 2025 Form 6 graduates, Unite Program Director Anty Marche, and special guest — my brother-in-law — Jeff Wells.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
In Tanzania, there's a four-month break between A-level graduation and the start of university. During this time, nearly all of our graduates are engaged in paid professional internships while also preparing their university applications. Last week, 10 of our graduates currently staying in Dar es Salaam joined 15 other Unite Scholars and teammates to volunteer at a health education and screening event at Cardinal Rugambwa Hospital. Our medical scholars led sessions on critical topics including hypertension, diabetes, women’s health, mental health awareness, and the importance of a balanced diet. Other scholars provided hands-on support—assisting elderly individuals, helping those in need of wheelchairs, conducting BMI (Body Mass Index) assessments, and checking sugar levels. Watch highlights from their experience here.
In October, they’ll participate in our Unite University-Scholar Summit — a powerful, week-long gathering where we’ll explore:
AI and digital literacy;
Professional preparedness and workplace best practices;
Career guidance and international diplomacy; and
Mind-body health and wellness.
